D.R.A.M.A ACADEMIES

Come and join in the fun with D.R.A.M.A designed for both Primary and Secondary children. Our teachers are experienced and professional with up to date CRB checks. We have classes that take place after school and on weekends so have a look at where your nearest academy is located. The class lasts for 90 minutes: 45 minutes dance and 45 minutes drama/music with a break in between for snacks. Each term consists of 12 weeks which coincide with the school calendar with a break for half term.

Term Dates (12 Weeks):

SUMMER TERM 2010  : 19 Apr - 17 Mar 2010 (12 Weeks)

D.R.A.M.A CUBS: 4-6 years old
D.R.A.M.A KIDS: 7-9 years old
D.R.A.M.A JUNIORS: 10-12 years old
D.R.A.M.A TEENS: 13-18 years old

What Happen in Each Term?

Students will be working on a chosen production or theme for example Bugsy Malone throughout the term learning the dance numbers, songs and scripts. The climax is in Week 12 where the children will perform the production. Students will have the opportunity to work on their performance skills, develop their dance ability and strengthen their improvisational skills in drama. An end of term report is written assessing each child's progress and creative development in class.

Uniform

D.R.A.M.A students are expected to wear comfortable footwear and comfortable clothing as they will be moving around quite a lot. You can also purchase a D.R.A.M.A t-shirt at the reception desk priced @ £5 each 4-8 yrs. old and £6 each 9-16 yrs. old. No jewellery is to be worn for health and safety reasons.

Arrival / Departure

Once you arrive at the academy please sign your child in and make sure we have your contact number on our files along with any other adult that may escort your child in the future. Please also let us know who is collecting your child. You may stay at the premises to observe your child discreetly or you can simply come back and collect them. Once the students have finished we will send them out one by one. If the parent is not there we will keep them at the academy and contact you.

Attendance / Catch-up classes

It is important for your child to attend the class every week so they do not miss any of the dances, songs and exercises set. If your child is absent for a class you are able to make up the lesson at our other academy but please contact us to book your name for that day. Details of the dates and venues of the academies are listed on our website. Punctuality is also important as lateness disrupts the class.

Snacks

The students have a break in between the dance class and drama/music class. We provide juice, biscuits and fruits but if you want to give your child their own snacks please feel free to. Please do not pack anything heavy. Please also inform us of any allergies.

Health and Safety

Our teachers are CRB checked and have up to date First Aid training. We have First Aid boxes installed at each academy and each venue has accessible fire exits. Every academy also has a D.R.A.M.A manager who is present at the reception during the classes.
